Job description
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled .NET Engineer with strong experience in VB.NET and Windows Forms to support our team in the Netherlands. You will be responsible for maintaining and evolving a set of legacy business-critical applications built on the .NET Framework 4.x stack.
These applications are integrated with NOAH 4, the global standard for hearing care data exchange. Experience with NOAH or similar clinical integration is a strong plus.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with mature codebases and takes pride in improving stability, performance, and maintainability. You’ll work closely with local and remote engineering teams to ensure ongoing support for our hearing care retail software.
What you will do:
Maintain and troubleshoot legacy desktop and web applications written in VB.NET and .NET Framework 4.x
Support existing Windows Forms and Windows Services
Work on ASP.NET (WebForms/MVC) internal tools and portals
Debug issues reported by customers and internal teams
Ensure ongoing integration with NOAH 4 for audiological data handling
Participate in migrating components to newer technologies over time
Technical skills and expertise:
3+ years of experience with VB.NET and the .NET Framework 4.x
Strong knowledge of Windows Forms and Windows Services
Hands-on experience with ASP.NET, HTML, and JavaScript
Familiarity with Visual Studio and version control (Git or TFS)
Good spoken and written English
Key traits:
Ability to work independently on legacy codebases and identify areas for improvement
You are comfortable working in an international, distributed team environment
Would be a plus:
Experience with NOAH 4 integration or audiological software
Experience migrating legacy apps to .NET Core or modern web stacks
Familiarity with healthcare or hearing aid software systems in the Netherlands
Dutch language skills
